This fresh, original piece of writing, set in a modern day witch trial, is a meditation on what it means to be a woman; the challenges we face, and how they break us, bind us and shape us into the women we become.
Black Ginger Productions / Stuffed Puffin Productions bring us play about the struggles women face every day and how it makes us feel. It showed 4 different stories from women being accosted in a nightclub to online trolling all at the hands of men.
I found the use of simple storytelling and minimal set really powerful, it really put ownness on the stories and the acting. The stories were so honest and you could relate to all of them, whether it is feeling unsafe walking home alone, or the unwanted attention on a night out, all the stories were something myself and probably all women have felt.
I also enjoyed the fact that it was set as if it were a witch trial. It highlighted how a lot of the time it is the women who are treated like they are in the wrong in these types of situations, that they are wrong not being wronged.
It was just such a true and honest story that I really felt needed to be shared. Really really enjoyed it.
