Review: She Can’t Half Talk – Abbie McGrath

Show: She Can’t Half Talk
Venue: Bedlam Theatre
Star rating: ****
Reviewer: Abbie McGrath

She Can’t Half Talk brings a selection of short stories, each which challenge expectations and attitudes towards gender and sexuality in a different, unexpected way. Starting the show listing common insults that women, non-binary, and LGBTQ+ individuals face every day, our attention is grabbed from the start.

I don’t want to go into too much detail about the individual stories, but you can expect a terrific show with the fantastic writing of She Can’t Half Talk, combined with how flawlessly every member of the cast brought their characters to life.

Each day they will present three of the six monologues, which featured The Actor, The Victim, and The Cougar during my showing. Every story presents a completely different scenario, all of which kept the audience on their toes. There is not too much I can say without taking away the element of surprise, but I can assure you that She Can’t Half Talk is an unmissable addition to your Fringe 2019.
